Cosmetic Acupuncture Program

Cosmetic acupuncture presents a viable alternative to other types of cosmetic procedures, including microdermabrasion, Botox, chemical peels, photo rejuvenation, and other treatments that are designed to turn back the hands of time while reducing the signs of aging. Even better, techniques such as acupuncture facial rejuvenation are completely natural and effective.

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture

The goal of acupuncture for your face is to correct and improve the signs of aging. This treatment offers semi-permanent results for sagging chins and wrinkles. For those wondering, “Does cosmetic acupuncture work,” it is noninvasive and can reduce the appearance of aging by up to 15 years. It is also painless.

How Cosmetic Acupuncture Works

Cosmetic acupuncture for wrinkles works by lifting the skin a few millimeters to remove fine lines around the lips, nose, and eyes. Every individual is different and has different needs. When using acupuncture for facelift treatments, the practitioner will insert fine needles into specific areas of the head, neck, and face. The needles work to stimulate skin cells, improve blood circulation, and increase collagen and elastin production. Collagen is a critical element of the connective tissue that helps to keep skin supple and firm. Improved blood circulation to the face also helps tighten and strengthen the facial tissue. This technique can also be effective for treating under-eye bags as well as firming up the jawline.

A certified acupuncturist can also use this method for treating underlying health conditions. By inserting needles into specific parts of the body, it is possible to improve balances throughout the body. Needles are typically left in place between 20 and 30 minutes. Following the removal of the needles, a facemask will be put in place and a special massage used to invigorate blood circulation.

Cosmetic acupuncture is considered an element of Traditional Chinese Medicine and combines elements of acupuncture and acupressure massage, herbal medicine, moxa, and cupping. As part of the overall treatment, the acupuncturist will often use diagnosis techniques that include facial diagnosis, pulse/tongue diagnosis, and asking the patient questions to identify the imbalances within the body that could be causing skin imperfections. Fine lines and wrinkles tend to appear whenever there is any imbalance within the body. Properly treating these imbalances can help improve the patient’s appearance and overall health. This diagnosis will also help the practitioner determine the appropriate acupuncture facelift points.

Cosmetic Acupuncture Treatment Protocol

Each patient has unique needs, so a treatment protocol may differ from one patient to another. Many patients are able to notice changes immediately after the first treatment. Even so, cosmetic acupuncture treatments for facial rejuvenation are typically provided in sets in order to improve the overall quality of results. A typical treatment protocol would include treatments twice per
